About the GCS

The Global Conservation Standard is a designed to monetize nature conservation worldwide. Based on the volume of measurable ecosystem services benefits, the Standard offers economic benefits through the issuance and sale of Conservation Credit Units (CCUs). To the buyer, CCUs offer a high degree of security:

1. The projects are independently validated and certified
2. GCS is complementary to a multitude of ecosystem services
3. Conservation is achieved through a binding agreement with the landowner
4. A minimum protection of 30 years is granted
5. A Stakeholder Foundation invests in sustainable reforestation, agroforestry, food and energy crop development in the neighboring Commercial Zone
